Vision

Cascade Backcountry is the sole nordic (backcountry) patrol in the Northwest Region.  Our goal is to be the recognized leader in avalanche and mountain travel and rescue training within the region, in addition to fulfilling our primary mission to serve the backcountry areas of our territory.

Territory

We primarily patrol the undeveloped backcountry ski trails and logging roads at Steven’s, Blewett, Snoqualmie Passes and in 1999, started patrolling along the North Cascades Hwy (after the road opened).  Currently we base our Stevens Pass operations out of the U.S. Forest Service compound at Skykomish, and our Snoqualmie operations out of the Snoqualmie Pass Fire Department.   Additionally, there are opportunities to ski as guest patrollers in the developed cross country areas for ski area resorts.
